Dear Parents, Guardians, Family Members and Friends

TAKULANDIRANI – WELCOME

I am delighted to welcome you to St Andrew’s International Primary School (SAIPS) in Blantyre, Malawi. Founded in 1938, SAIPS is one of the oldest international schools in the country, with a proud legacy of providing high-quality British-style education in a warm, inclusive and nurturing environment. For over 85 years, we have been committed to developing confident, compassionate, and globally minded young people who are prepared for success in an ever-changing world.

At SAIPS we follow the British National Curriculum, enhanced with elements of international best practice and the Cambridge Primary Curriculum. Our approach is child-centred, enquiry-based and holistic, focusing on academic excellence alongside personal, social, emotional and creative development. Small class sizes, highly qualified teachers, and a diverse student body from over 21 nationalities create a rich, supportive learning community where every child is known, valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Our campus is a special place — modern classrooms, extensive sports facilities, two swimming pools, a school farm, Forest School area, and boarding provision — all set in beautiful, secure grounds. We place strong emphasis on wellbeing, inclusivity, outdoor learning, creativity, digital skills (including coding, robotics and AI), and global citizenship. Above all, we aim to instil a lifelong love of learning, resilience, kindness and a sense of responsibility toward others and the world around us.

Our Educational Philosophy

We believe that every child is unique and deserves an education that inspires curiosity, builds confidence, and prepares them for a rapidly changing future. Our core principles include:

  • Inquiry-based and experiential learning
  • Global awareness and international-mindedness
  • Holistic development of mind, body and character
  • Inclusivity and respect for diversity
  • Strong pastoral care and emotional wellbeing
  • Preparation for secondary education and beyond

Why SAIPS?

We offer small class sizes, individual attention, a broad and balanced curriculum, outstanding facilities (including boarding), a safe and caring environment, and a strong sense of community. We invite you to visit us, meet our dedicated team, tour the campus, and see our happy, engaged learners in action. We would be honoured to welcome your family into the SAIPS community.

Warm regards,

Mr Akif A. Naqvi
